The economy of ecology
Environmental protection and the careful use of natural resources have been essential principles governing the strategy at ANKER-TEPPICHBODEN for decades and are now more important than ever. No matter what the process, the company evaluates and takes the environmental issues into account. ANKER-TEPPICHBODEN makes a big point of conserving natural resources, keeping emissions to a minimum, thus ensuring it causes as little pollution to the environment as possible – and makes itself even more competitive this way.

By focussing on the use of solution-dyed fibre materials, the amount of service water the company consumes and waste water it generates is reduced resulting in energy-efficient production processes. At the present time, ANKER-TEPPICHBODEN manufactures over 80% of its products from solution-dyed fibres – on an upward trend.
ANKER-TEPPICHBODEN invests in new types of production methods and innovative products. Its focus in product development is on durable products, such as PERLON RIPS.
All surplus textiles are recycled or reused in some way.
ANKER-TEPPICHBODEN protects natural resources by sourcing the water it requires for production from its own well system. This water is treated and fed back into the River Rur by the municipal water-treatment plant, which ANKER-TEPPICHBODEN co-initiated and has co-financed.
In order to save resources where energy is concerned, ANKER TEPPICHBODEN installed a combined heat and power plant decades ago. The steam generated in the company’s own gas-fired power plant serves to generate electricity with a steam turbine. The exhaust steam is then used as process steam in various production lines.
The production halls and company administration occupy a total area of around 320,000 sq.m. Of these, 70,000 sq.m. are sealed surfaces, the rest are green spaces. Of these in turn, 120,000 sq.m. are landscape conservation areas, which ensures extensive habitats for the natural ecosystem of the Rur pasture lands.
ANKER-TEPPICHBODEN has been certified in conformance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2008, DIN EN 9100:2003, DIN ISO 14001:2009 and OHSAS 18001:2007, as well as being a founding member of GUT.
